Time for a new blogathon!
Baby, it’s getting hot outside, so how about a blogathon focused on films to cool us off? I am inviting you to write about films that take place during winter.
Any film from any era or country is welcome. Short films (including animated) and documentaries, too!
The film you choose to write about does not have to exclusively take place during the winter. As long as there is at least one winter scene in the film, that’s fine. The only rule is no duplicates.
The blogathon will run Friday, July 13 – Sunday, July 15. You may post any day (or earlier, if you wish).

How do you define “a winter scene”? Does there have to be snow? Or does it just have to be taking place in the northern hemisphere during what is ostensibly the winter season? Can’t recall if there is snow in “Die Hard” but it does take place at a Christmas Party in Los Angeles, so it is technically winter….

This is a really clever topic for a blogathon! I have been mulling it over, and I have decided that I would like to write about “Broadway Serenade” 1939. This movie is set almost exclusively in winter. There are two Christmas scenes, and some New Year scenes, too. Are you allowing participants to write more than one article? If you are, I would also like to write about “The Shop Around the Corner” 1940, which is set in the time leading up to Christmas.
By the way, I would like to invite you to join an event I am hosting on my website, #CleanMovieMonth: https://pureentertainmentpreservationsociety.wordpress.com/2018/06/27/july-is-cleanmoviemonth. Starting on July 1st, it’s a month long celebration of Code films and clean entertainment. All you have to do is watch movies from the greater Breen Era exclusively. Then, in the beginning of August, you can write an article about your thoughts on the experiment. It shouldn’t be hard for you, since I know how much you love old movies. Even if you think you’ll be too busy to write any articles for this event, I would be very grateful if you would read my announcement and consider reposting it on your website. Your articles get so much more traffic than mine do, and I could really use the publicity.

….TECHNICALLY it would have been summer in Antarctica at the time the team was there, but I believe that the fact that it was in ANTARCTICA would make up for that.
