About

I am a writer, avid reader and love movies so much I majored in film studies in college.  (I also loved earning a degree watching movies five days a week!)

I was born in Spain when my father was stationed overseas.  I grew up in New York City and currently reside in Miami.  I like the lack of winter but not the addition of hurricane warnings.

My mom is professional astrologer, tarot card reader and author Phyllis Vega.  We co-wrote the book Your Magickal Name.  Growing up in a house with an astrologer and tarot card reader was interesting, to say the least, and I have gained some knowledge by osmosis.  I used to read tarot for my co-workers and bosses until I realized telling your boss things about him he may not want you to know isn’t always the right way to go.

My first passion is fiction writing.  My short story “The Hannukah Invitation” was published by Regency Press in the anthology The Winter Holiday Sampler.

Two more short stories–“Deadman’s Ball” and “Earlobe”–were chosen for REUTS Publications’ anthology, Fairly Twisted Tales for a Horribly Ever After.

I have very eclectic tastes in fiction, movies and TV.  I love genre fiction of all kinds, and am just as likely to have fantasy, horror, YA, historical fiction, sci-fi or romance residing on my Kindle.  I grew up on classic movies and amazed my grandparents by loving old B movies like Westerns and film noir.  I love a good love story and cry at movies even when you’re not supposed to cry.

The title of my blog “Moon In Gemini” comes from the fact that I have the moon in Gemini in my astrological chart.  Gemini is a sign associated with writing and communication.  It’s also a sign associated with people who can’t make up their minds about anything, so don’t be surprised by the variety of subjects that may appear in this blog.
